Comments: And so the Vertigo World Tour 2005 kicks off! This is a great sounding recording capturing the first night of the new show. It is not spectacular sounding, but still very solid. The San Diego Sports Arena (oh I'm sorry...I mean the iPayOne Center now) has terrible acoustics in it, and thus the low end sounds muddy to me. There are time when I can't even really hear Adam playing at all because it is so muddy. The band pull out some songs that they haven'y played in a very long time, and they are very refreshing to hear again. As usual with U2 on opening nights, they are rusty on many songs, but the show has its moments. Once they figure out what they are doing and get the setlist nailed down, this is going to be an amazing show to witness. |
